Life on Effexor
Effexor was the first anti-depressent I was ever prescribed, so it will always have a place in my heart. It made me sweat profusely whenever the temperature rose above 70° F (that's 21.1° C); and I think it was the cause of noticeable weight gain; but the drug also made me more calm, more content, and more productive.
Anyway, Bitch, Ph.D. recently started on Effexor and has had a slightly different, but equally satisfying, experience.

Effexor was the only one that really worked for me. I did however have a couple of side effects that at first, seemed to be small potatoes compared to being depressed. But as luck would have it, effexor actually worked so I felt better and then those nasty little side effect became a problem. Strange how that happens.
I decided to go on the med-go-round and never did find one that alleviated my depression.
Now I'm unmedicated, for several reasons, and feel the depression creeping back in again. I think I'd go back on effexor if I had the chance.
BTW, notice any particular "nasties" while getting off of effexor? I had some "discontinuation symptoms" but got through it OK. Some folks say it's like going through hell for them to quit the stuff.
My name is Judith Haven and i would like to show you my personal experience with Effexor.
I am 37 years old. Have been on Effexor for at least 1 years now. As soon as I was on the beginning dose I could feel releave from my anxiety. My family life is so much better. My kids notice it. They applaud my for taking the side affects for a better live with them. No explosive episode any more.
I have experienced some of these side effects-
Nightsweats, I have twitches if I forget a dose.
I hope this information will be useful to others,
Judith Haven
