CNN.com has an inspiring story about faith communities working to stem the crisis in Niger, where nearly one third of the population is hungry due to drought and a locust invasion. I confess that I haven't been paying much attention to this story.

CNN.com also provides a list of organizations that are involved in the relief effort. I would like to add UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) to the list.
