The Scene Demands More Candidates
The Nashville Scene's Roger Abramson (in an excellent editorial) poses that simply voting or staying informed isn't enough. We need more people running for office at the local and state levels. Anyone think I can win an election for the Tennessee State House of Representatives next year? Let me know. (Just so you know, I live in Bellevue and will run only as an independent.)

The way candidates lives are dissected by the media, there's no way I'd ever consider running for office. I'd just as soon keep the skeletons from my past safely locked away in the closet. I'm not the person I was before I committed my life to Christ, but somehow I don't think that would matter to CNN.
I say go for it if want. There is not reason why you couldn't be a good representative. That is all the job calls for but too many politicians run for it and think that sleazy, power brokering is what the job description says. We need ordinary joes like you and Frank Buck. The politics and social agenda are secondary to the job of representing ones constituents. Two thumbs up for Representitive Tinley!!
