I Will Not Be Watching Love Monkey This Evening . . .

. . . because CBS pulled it. Technically, the network put the show "on hiatus," but Love Monkey's future isn't promising. I am discouraged that our major television networks purge themselves of interesting shows such as Ed, Joan of Arcadia, and Love Monkey, while flooding their primetime schedules with more crime dramas, medical dramas, and reality shows. Don't misread me: I enjoy a good crime drama or medical drama—my two favorite new shows are House and Grey's Anatomy. (And I can't believe that Meredith slept with George, knowing that she'll only have to break his heart.) I would just like more diverse, more creative primetime offerings.
