    Links for a Long Weekend

The Tinley family has twice the usual number of children this weekend (we're watching my sister-in-law's kids for a few days), so I have neither the time nor the energy to write a real post. But here are some things you might enjoy looking at this Memorial Day weekend:

    • "Band on the Diaper Run": I just discovered that my new favorite band, the Mates of State, has a mommy-and-daddy blog.

    • Deadspin's Big Daddy Drew comes to terms with being a sexist when grading sports broadcasters (and provides some great analysis about why he is sexist).

    • Astronomers win the lottery, watch the death of a star (AP).

    • Valleywag uses an obscure 80s sci-fi novel to explain why Microsoft will never beat (or seriously compete with) Google at search.

    • This was a lot funnier back in 1993, but I still enjoy old sketches from The State and am grateful to those who have uploaded them to YouTube.
