Weekend Reading
- Dutch government drawing up legislation to ban burqas in public. Such a measure targets a small portion of the population, benefits no one, and is blatant discrimination. I'm shocked that a western democracy would even consider such a policy.
- Loser of Minnesota State Senate race concedes to her Hindu opponent by proseltyzing. Sincere effort to spread the gospel message or sour grapes (i.e. "Yeah, well at least my soul isn't doomed to eternal peril!")?
- The NFL is an equal opportunity league (ESPN Page 2). "It's only a matter of time until a woman plays in the NFL, and I hope never to meet that woman."
- How John Edwards has fallen. Former VP candidate's staff tries to sweet-talk Wal Mart out of a PS3. Wal Mart, which Edwards has often criticized, tells Edwards' people to wait in line. This won't bode well for Edwards in 2008.
- Homophobia brings together crazies from all faiths (Talk to Action). Apparently, gays are somehow responsible for violence in the Middle East.
